III International Exhibition "From Waste to Art" 2014
The 3rd International “From Waste to Art” Exhibition was launched on 30 May 2014 at the Qala State History and Ethnography Reserve. Primary objective of the exhibition, in which various samples of art made of domestic waste were presented, was to cultivate in population the necessity of keeping the environment clean, propagate careful approach of the planet’s environment, divert people from squandering, and make them refrain from throwing useless items into waste bins without thinking once more. Along with Azerbaijani artists, handicrafts of artists from USA, Australia, Great Britain, Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, Czech Republic, Cuba, Columbia and Japan were displayed at the exhibition.
The value of the works presented at the exhibition is to show how art can encourage people to use recycled materials, and even garbage. The main theme of the event: to draw public attention to environmental issues in big cities. To achieve this goal, the amazing ability of art to transform is used, which brings out the details that are invisible at first glance.
