VI International Art Festival Maiden Tower 2015
Craftsmen from France, Germany, the USA and even Côte d'Ivoire came to Baku to take part in the annual, for the sixth International Maiden Tower art festival. It is held at the initiative and support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and this time among the organizers is the Operation Committee of the first European Games “Baku 2015”. The main goal of the festival is to promote the culture and art of Azerbaijan with the help of artists from various parts of the world, as well as contribute to the promotion of the symbol of Baku - the Maiden’s Tower, included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list. For three days, artists painted models of the Maiden Tower in their national style, creating works that reflect the synthesis of various cultures and traditions. This year, it was decided to colorize also the symbols of the first European Games - Nar and Jeyran. In turn, the closing ceremony of the festival was first held in the historical and ethnographic reserve "Gala" - it was here that all the works of the participants were transferred for one day. One of the organizers of the event, the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the founder and head of the IDEA Public Association Leyla Aliyeva took part in it.
This year, it was decided to colorize also the symbols of the first European Games - Nar and Jeyran.
