Fikrat Hashimov

The works by Fikrat Hashimov are housed in the Union of Artists of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku, Azerbaijan; at the R. Mustafayev Azerbaijan State Art Museum, Baku, Azerbaijan; in the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, Baku, Azerbaijan; in the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation, Moscow, Russia; at the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Moscow, Russia; at the Russian Arts Foundation, Moscow, Russia; at the State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, Russia; at the Art Foundation of Czechoslovakia, Prague, Czechoslovakia; in the private gallery of S.Menzhinsky, Nice, France and in private collections in Azerbaijan and abroad.

Fikrat Hashimov was born in 1948 in Shahbuz, Azerbaijan. In 1968 he graduated from Azimzade Azerbaijan State Art School (Faculty of Art). For the first time he participated in the exhibition in 1969.  In 1976 Fikrat Hashimov graduated Repin Leningrad Institute of Art, Sculpture and Architecture (Faculty of Fine Arts). In 1971 the artist was awarded bronze medal at the All-Union Exhibition of Young Artists of the USSR, Moscow. In 1983 Fikrat Hashimov got the Badge of Honor of the Union of Youth of Czechoslovakia for the compositions presented at the ‘The Palette of Friendship’ group exhibition of Azerbaijani and Czechoslovak artists, Prague, Czechoslovakia and within 1983-1986 he got Gold Award at the Biennale of the Caucasian Republics, Tbilisi, Georgia.
On May 2010 the the Ataturk University in Erzurum (Turkey) hosted the 1st International Drawing Symposium attended by 20 artists from 9 countries. Azerbaijani artist Fikrat Hashimov also participated in the event. Fikrat Hashimov is the participant of the different international exhibitions. Fikrat Hashimov is the docent and manager of chair of the Azerbaijan State Art University. On May, 2002 the artist was awarded the title of the Honored Artist by Heydar Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
