From 05th till 20th of June, 2015 in QGallery will run up Eliyar Alimirzoyev’ solo exhibition. 35 of his artworks to be exhibited.
The exhibition Visa for Birds features graphic and sculptural objects by the unique Azerbaijani artist Eliyar Alimirzoyev. Intrinsic to his work is his surprising ability to immerse the viewer into a world of illusory, surrealist, dreamlike images in which fantastic beings, released from worldly concerns, freely soar in space. Alimirzoyev reincarnates his figures into fantastic flying objects, and these ephemeral creatures freely float above the ordinary world. A peculiar elegance and aestheticism in the works of Eliyar are tied to a delicate and sometimes painful self-irony. The artist provokes the viewer to turn away from the usual stereotypes and soar above the ordinary, while taking a different look at the world.
Surprising ability – to immerse the viewer in a condition of an illusory, surrealistic dream in which the images of people, fantastic beings released from worldly vanity, freely soaring in space, occupy the unusual world which is at the same time attracting and frightening is inherent to Elyar Alimirzoyev’ works. Characters of his pictures – whether people, whether semi-people, whether phantoms of the people who are once living on the earth live now other spiritual and physical state.
